SPEAKER_00

All right, welcome everybody to the premier episode of The High Ground. Um, the show where we talk about all things movies, all things TV shows. Today we'll be talking about specifically 2026 movies that have come out, movies that haven't. Um, maybe some 2025 in there, recab and last year. Um, but we're your hosts, I'm Will. This is Jacob. Good to be here.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, this in general is just like crazy. Yeah. So if y'all happen to like stumble your way across this, thanks for tuning in. Thanks for watching. We're glad to be here, to be able to just like talk about things like this, nerd out, honestly, just have a good time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, without further ado, let's get into it. Yeah. Let's do it.

SPEAKER_01

So, first up, I think we really want to go over just like, you know, it's it's already May, you know, it's almost about halfway through the year. There's already been some banger movies that have came out so far. And so we're just gonna go over like the movies we've watched in 2026, our thoughts about them, our rankings.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, let's do it. Ranking movies that we've seen in 2026. There's been a lot of good ones. So, so what it like, I mean, I know you're a big fan of specifically one of them. Oh, one of one of them, one of them for sure. And then there's one that we're both not a big fan of at all. Like, like, honest, just garbage. Terrible.

SPEAKER_01

Just garbage garbage. I think should we go bottom up?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we'll go bottom up. We'll go bottom up. So, so what do you have in your first of all? How many movies have you seen this year?

SPEAKER_01

Seven. I I'm a I'm a seven set of came out in 2016.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right. So I think I've seen I think I've only seen three in theaters. Um Okay. I've rewatched a couple, but but of like the newer ones, I've only seen a couple.

SPEAKER_01

So I probably know which ones you've seen.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You by far have not seen the one on my seven, though.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Well, we can we can start there. What you what you got at your bottom spot?

SPEAKER_01

So so first off, like let me just clear the air real quick. Okay. We we don't we don't have to get political right here. But Melania, the documentary on the first lady, garbage.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's 0.5 out of five.

SPEAKER_00

0.5 out of five?

SPEAKER_01

It sucks.

SPEAKER_00

What what was what was the biggest detractor from this movie?

SPEAKER_01

Like, what like no offense to Melania. I think she's a smart first lady, but the whole movie, like, something would be said to her and she'd just like say it back at them. And that was like her whole entire movie. Okay. For like a straight like two hours. The best part was they're in a basketball stadium, and all of a sudden Baron Trump just goes and the crowd goes wild. No audio. No, like it like literally, literally, like if I can pull up a clip like right here of like Baron Trump just like standing up and just aura farming in the movie. Peak. Peak. I stood up and started clapping. So that's where the 0.5 stars come from. So that's where the 0.5 stars come from. And if y'all look on Letterboxd, if y'all know what Letterboxd is, the reviews are just abysmal of it. Which some of them might just be like boo, because it's like Melania, but like it is genuinely just like a really hard watch. So it made it at number seven.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I mean, it sounds like objectively a fair pick. I mean, I haven't heard one thing about that movie. It's it's a movie, right? Documentary movie. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

It came out like early 2026.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, fair enough, fair enough.

SPEAKER_01

I would I wouldn't waste the time.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Good to know, good to know. That's that's yeah, I wasn't planning on it. I was not the goal. No.

SPEAKER_01

Um but number six.

SPEAKER_00

All right, number six isn't too far off, Mamani. Okay. All right, let's hear number six. What you got?

SPEAKER_02

Stuper Mario Bros. Alright, yeah, yeah. Um yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Brutal. It was a I fell asleep.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

In the theaters. In an hour and a half long movie. That's impressive.

SPEAKER_01

I fell asleep and I woke up and Fox was on my screen, and I go, What the heck?

SPEAKER_00

It makes you feel any better. Um, there was no explanation of like how he got there. I I mean, I just think he just showed up. Like if he if there was an explanation, it wasn't memorable enough for me to remember it. So I have no idea how the Fox got. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

The first movie did a great job of just like balancing the Mario world, but the plot actually had like cohesion. Like I could follow through with it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It wasn't like as paper thin.

SPEAKER_01

This Super Mario Galaxy plot, it was just like how much references can we fit in every two minutes?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Make it make no sense, and we only see Rosalina for like three minutes.

SPEAKER_00

In the in a galaxy movie, like a Mario Galaxy.

SPEAKER_01

I see her little Rainbow Luna stars for more than I see Rosalina, and they just somehow come out of nowhere.

SPEAKER_00

How do you know where they come from? I don't know. I don't understand. Safe fuck. It's like, how do they know where they were? That was that was my like, I don't understand.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Wild.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, if I just wanted to like, not that I do this, but just like get high and turnt out of my mind, I might turn on that movie because I felt like I was high and turned that whole movie. Yeah. But like it was just a fever dream. I didn't know what was happening. Maybe it was because I fell asleep.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, me and my buddies that I went on to talk with my roommates, I think that was the one thing we said when it was over was like, if we were like high watching that movie, like I don't think we'd know what planet we were on when we left. You know what I mean? Like, I I I that movie, um, that that is also at the bottom of my the ones I've seen. Yeah. What is it on the bottom? Yeah, I I think I gave it a one and a half.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

So a little bit more, or how what did you get?

SPEAKER_01

Do you know I get I gave it a two, like it was still it was still fun.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

It was it was a fun movie, but yeah. I don't know, it's just all over the place.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I also thought it was it was like it had that same level of like yeah, just fun that the first one had, but for me the plot was just so thin.

SPEAKER_01

It was like so much thinner than the first one, and it just everything like Bowser going from like good to bad, and then like the way that whole transition to just really interesting. I I don't know how I felt about it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Yeah, it's just but it's funny.

SPEAKER_01

So there's some highlights.

SPEAKER_00

Some highlights, some good things, mostly bad things, but you know, there's some good things sprinkled in. Yeah. Um yeah, that was that was a rough ride. That was um, I mean, like when it was done, I didn't think like that was terrible, but the thing I kept saying was I feel like I watched the best way I can describe it is I feel like I watched the trailer of the movie. Like I don't even think I I I left the theater and I was like, that was the movie. Yeah. Like I just felt like I missed something. I was, you know, like I just that was my thought.

SPEAKER_01

Like, and before the movie even came out, we knew Rosalina was gonna be in it. We knew Fox was gonna be in it, because they tease Glenn Powell as Fox. I knew what's her name, Birdo, the the pink Yoshi looking. I I knew she was gonna be in the movie. Was she?

SPEAKER_00

I don't remember.

SPEAKER_01

She was in that weird like casino.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay, yes. Yes, that that scene was all talk about being high watching. I think that's when I fell asleep. That scene was so bad.

SPEAKER_01

But like I felt like everything that was like really cool and like, oh, like character reveal, like we just knew beforehand. And then trying to pair all those together and actually make a plot just didn't work. So all the fun and surprise I already knew.

SPEAKER_00

No. There's one thing you could change about the Mario movie. How are you how are you making that better? Like, what's the what's the biggest thing you gotta make better? Rosalind. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You you gotta like like if y'all haven't seen the movie, go see the movie first. You might want to like not listen to this because it did have a teaser at the end of the movie um where they teased Daisy. Spoilers, spoilers, sorry in the next in the next movie. Like if if they do what they did with Rosalina and they shove Daisy in the movie for like three minutes, gonna be like, is that really even a teaser? Because it's not teasing much. Yeah, that's kind of what they did with Rosalina, where I'm pretty sure like the teaser was like Luna, like the star in the first movie. And then we just got like barely any of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. No, it's yeah, it's it's not really even a teaser because it didn't she doesn't play a big role in the movie, you know.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, I same thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, amongst a lot of things, probably probably more Rosalina is is the is the biggest one. Because yeah, like I I played the the Super Mario Galaxy like growing up. Like me and my brother, we'd boot that up on the Wii all the time, you know? And um, yeah, it's like Rosalina being a part of it, you know, Super Mario Galaxy. Like that's that's kind of just seems like a no-brainer, you know? But yeah, they had her out, and I mean they had her in there for I mean, I can't imagine she was in there for more than like five minutes.

SPEAKER_01

It was to mine, like and like a like I think half of it was her like dead in a cell, like just like no movement. Passed out, no talk. Just like you were in the theater. Just like me in the theater. Me and Rosalina had the same amount of screen. Like, like it's honestly just like but the reason I get it, like it did have some fun Easter eps. Like there were that is true. There were some good cameos. I like how they like Yoshi one time, he did his little Yoshi jump. Like, that was cool. It's fun. Like it's still fun. If I was a kid, I'd probably give it a five out of five.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can't remember who said this, but someone said it's like jingling keys, the movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's just like reference here, reference there, bright colors, you know, which again is what the first one did, but it just had more substance to it. You know, it just had more. Yeah, it just had to be.

SPEAKER_01

I felt like they were trying to almost create their own plot, or like the first movie, they could kind of just grab a plot from like the Mario games. Bowser takes Peach, they save Peach.

SPEAKER_00

That's fair. They already had a blueprint.

SPEAKER_01

They have a blueprint to kind of try to get more explorative with this one, and then they were dream.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's just straight. You were dreaming during the movie, actually. You were uh I I honestly I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

When I passed out, I I was two Icy's in at like one in the morning. Uh couple making out next to me. Watching watching Mario.

SPEAKER_02

What a memory.

SPEAKER_01

What a memory.

SPEAKER_00

Crazy. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We can move on to the next one.

SPEAKER_01

So what you got at your I think my five two three might be one to haven't seen yet.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, wow.

SPEAKER_01

So so I I'll try and go through them pretty quickly. Okay. But number five, probably will be the most random movie I watched this year. But it was called Panda Plan the Magical Tribe with Jackie. Because it's it's one of those that is so bad but funny. Obviously, it's in a different language. Um, I actually thought the plot was almost like there was actually a plot to follow, unlike the Super Mario Galaxy movie, which is why I gave it a two and a half out of five. Um, but the reviews of it are horrible.

SPEAKER_00

So less than 2.5. Well, people thought it was way lower.

SPEAKER_01

They're like almost all 0.5. Um, I can read off, I think this might be the one letterbox review I have ever liked on the platform just because it made me die laughing.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

For about like 15 minutes straight. Yeah. When when just looking at what people gave this review. Um, I don't know how I found this movie. I just like stumbled across it and just said, why not? Because I had nothing better to do. Um, and this is from an account called Man I Need.

SPEAKER_02

Um shout out, that guy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Shout out. I mean Olivia Dean reference.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know that one. Wow. Yeah. What's the what's the movie?

SPEAKER_01

Olivia Dean's selling, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Shoot. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You're not in your bag right now.

SPEAKER_00

That's on me. No, no, I'm not. She makes it Sasong.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like Man I Need. She's like, she might have won a Grammy for a new upcoming singer, girl singer.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

She's low-key fired though, but this review has 117 likes on Letterboxd. They gave it half a star, and it quote unquote says From abutt.

SPEAKER_00

Quickest review of all time.

SPEAKER_01

Quickest review of all time. But Pan of Plan, the magical tribe. Apparently, there was a movie that came out before this movie. You wouldn't be able to tell. Like, in all honesty, like movie was a fever dream, but it was fun.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and then this is where movies start getting good for me, is the number four spot. Um, we have the drama with Zendaya and Robert Patrick.

SPEAKER_00

You had a lot of good things to say about this movie.

SPEAKER_01

I had a lot of good things to say.

SPEAKER_00

You also said it was kind of odd, though. You were saying it was just an odd movie.

SPEAKER_01

It was odd in the fact that like I watched it alone in a movie theater by myself, and the movie makes you feel really awkward. Um, it's one of those where like you wish you had a remote so you could like pause it and just like step away from the movie. Because it's like really awkward conversations that you kind of just want to escape from, but you can't.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, it's the worst.

SPEAKER_01

But like that's why I like watching it in the theater, because like you just have to like you force yourself to watch it. But the plot in general was super entertaining. I think Robert Pattinson killed it, Zendaya killed it, and I really enjoyed it. I probably will go see it again um or watch it again this year, maybe in a couple weeks.

SPEAKER_00

What are your thoughts on Zendaya? What do you think of a Zendaya as an actress? As an actress? Because I just want to say, from my point of view, I like I've never seen a movie where I walk away from it and I'm like, and Zendaya had an incredible performance. Like I've never standout of the movie. I just haven't seen it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't think she's ever been like she's just solid. The fact that I think she might be in the most movies besides um Anne Hathaway.

SPEAKER_00

Crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Besides Anne Hathaway. It's true though.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, shout out Anne Hathaway. Yeah, you know what I mean? Shout out, she's celebrity like celebrity cross sends. I mean, bro. Can you like she's like way over there? Dude, yeah, I was dude. This is like your mom. Dude, but she's not my mom. What are we talking about? It's Anne Hathaway. This is not a crazy take. Anne Athaway's I mean, she's great. You know what I mean? Great actress, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, favorite Anne Hathaway movie. Go.

SPEAKER_00

Most memorable is um uh Chris Fernolan, Batman. Is it the the third the second one? No, that's third third one. Uh Dark Knight Rises. Yeah. Third one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Um that's like the one that comes to mind, but she's in a lot. She's in she's in Interstellar.

SPEAKER_01

She's in Interstellar. That's what I was gonna say.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think she stands out in that movie. I think she might yeah. I don't know. I just I feel like she's I don't I just don't remember anything she does or says in that movie at all. Oh no, but she's got like I mean Matthew McCallia just steals the yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

She was in Devil Wear Prada. Oh, the new one, yeah. The new one. She's gonna be in the Odyssey. She has a ton of other just random movies coming out this year as well, which was pretty exciting. So her Zendaya both big years, but literally in the drama, I think Robert Pattinson stole the show a little bit. Um I think he gave a really good performance for what his character was supposed to be. Um, Zendaya, I I think she still did good. I feel like someone else could have played that character almost just as well.

SPEAKER_02

Fair enough. The big Robert Pattinson guy? Are you uh ready?

SPEAKER_01

Let me defend the high ground here real quick. Alright, oh god. Let me let me defend the high ground here real quick. Whoa. Robert Pattinson is the best Batman. And the Batman is the best Batman movie. The Dark Knight is close, but it's not because what's his face is Batman.

SPEAKER_02

Um Christian Bell.

SPEAKER_01

Christian Bell Batman.

SPEAKER_00

Why not?

SPEAKER_01

The memorable part about the Dark Knight is Heath Ledger.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, undoubtedly.

SPEAKER_01

Undoubtedly. We'll go down us on the greatest villain, if not the greatest villain performance in a movie of all time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Robert Pattinson as Batman, and just the cinematography, the plot, the vibes, the realism of that Batman series.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The new one coming out next year. I'm so stoked.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's gonna be great. This is actually a high ground you don't really have to defend. Because you know, I also agree that the Batman is the best Batman movie. I am also I think The Batman is better than Dark Knight. I I think The Dark Knight's really good, but I think it's um over overrated strong, but I just I just I again I think it's it's it's Heath Ledger. I mean, I think if you take him out of that movie, it's it's just a really good movie. Yeah but what really pushed that to what people consider to be the best movie of all time is is his performance, you know. I think that's that's what does it. But take him out of it, it's like it's alright.

SPEAKER_01

Like like all three of those movies are like fantastic. Um like they are great Batman movies, but at the end of the day, I think it's hard to argue that when three I think Reeves Batman movies come out, that they're just gonna like steal the show of the three Nolan ones. Um say I think Christopher Nolan might be the best director of our time. But just the portrayal and the realism of the Robert Patton series. They're so cool. Like the Batman hallway scene. I go back to it all the time. It might be my favorite hallway scene even over Vader hallway scene.

SPEAKER_00

Remember one. That's wild. Which is a hallway scene. That's my favorite hallway scene. Nothing against the Batman hallway scene, but Vader hallway scene is yeah, it's the best.

SPEAKER_01

Vader was close just because it was like the first, like it was the Vader hallway scene taken into modern technology. And almost like the first time we saw Vader's true aura in modern technology.

SPEAKER_00

Dude.

SPEAKER_01

In a live action.

SPEAKER_00

Vader is, oh my gosh. Which is crazy. I mean, imagine just being one of those guys, you know. Like imagine you're just on a like you're just on a shift, you know, like you're just you're just working, you know, for the rebellion or something. Yeah. And you're just on some ship, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And um the lights go out in the hallway, you know, and you just hear like breathing at the end of it, and you just see a red lightsaber. You know, it's not just that's not like great day of work, you know.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, not at all. But I think it's not great. The craziest part out of all of this is knowing that despite all of this aura we see from Vader, he still isn't the greatest movie villain of all time.

SPEAKER_00

No, you think he is. You think he's number one. You think you think there's someone else that's number two that I I will never get behind.

SPEAKER_01

Vader, Vader is number one based off like pure aura and what he has the potential to be. There's no way. In a performance movie.

SPEAKER_00

No. Just don't say it. There's just no way. We can't get into this right now. There's no way.

SPEAKER_01

Lotto Bear is the greatest villain performance in any movie of all time.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it's just it's not even close to a sensible take.

SPEAKER_01

He runs a dictatorship and everybody falls for it. Everybody. I mean, this is that J Care's like a camp, bro. No. From World War II. Like he is like running it. And then he has a chance of redemption to save the whole day. And he says, freak you.

SPEAKER_02

And he stands on business.

SPEAKER_01

And he smells like strawberries.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, yeah, but why is a villain smelling like strawberries, bro? Because he has a

SPEAKER_01

That's not so deceiving. Dude.

SPEAKER_00

So sinister. Dude. And he's a just mad. No. I don't have the take ready for this right now, but there are, dude, there are countless.

SPEAKER_01

We're going to come back to it when we re-watch Toy Story 3.

SPEAKER_00

I I will rewatch Toy Story 3. I don't know the last time I saw that movie. I will pick apart why he's not the second best villain of all time.

SPEAKER_01

And you say that, but then your mind's gonna get changed.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, but are you saying that Lotz is better than like I mean, dude, what about like off top of my head, you got like Green Goblin from like Spider-Man movies?

SPEAKER_02

Overrated.

SPEAKER_00

You got Thanos from Avengers.

SPEAKER_02

Overrated.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, we're not saying Thanos is overrated. There's just no way we're saying that.

SPEAKER_01

He's overrated.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, we're just not there's just no way.

SPEAKER_01

Look like a bum in Infinity War.

SPEAKER_00

He didn't wait, he did not.

SPEAKER_01

He looked like a bum.

SPEAKER_00

No, he did not. How did he look like a bum?

SPEAKER_01

Stood on business. No, Infinity War, he had or it was in game, he looked like a bum.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, but it wasn't even he still didn't look like a bum. How did he look like a bum?

SPEAKER_01

He looked like a bum.

SPEAKER_00

But it he didn't even he look like a bum. That wasn't even him from like their you know timeline. It was like a different thing, so you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

But he still looked like a bum. And then you have Lotto. Lotto's big Lotso was never a bum. He had that whole thing planned out.

SPEAKER_00

He was always a bum. He's always smelled like strawberries.

SPEAKER_01

He's good on business the whole time.

SPEAKER_00

He always smelled like strawberries.

SPEAKER_01

While smelling like strawberries.

SPEAKER_00

That's why he can't be the greatest film of all time. Second greatest. The fact you're even putting him up here is just I I we can't. We're all talking about this right now. We're still we're still we're still we're still going to be back. All right, we're going back. Yeah, we're going back.

SPEAKER_01

So the drama was number four, four out of five. Number three, number three. This one you don't have on your list. Okay. What's you got? Because I think we share the same top two. Okay, what you got? But it's not really a movie. It's on Disney Plus, but it's just a Muppet show with Sabrina Carpenter.

SPEAKER_02

Um, like there's no way it can be that good.

SPEAKER_01

One one, you have the Muppets. There's no way the Muppets are peak. If you hate the Muppets, you hate me. There's no way.

SPEAKER_00

I might be hating you.

SPEAKER_01

What's wrong with the Muppets?

SPEAKER_00

I look, I just don't see the appeal. You look like a Muppet.

SPEAKER_01

I don't see the You look like Fuzzy.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, but you don't hate the Muppets though.

SPEAKER_01

I don't.

SPEAKER_00

So I could be complimenting it. Could be.

SPEAKER_01

It could be complimenting.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I'll take it. Yeah. Yeah? But no, I just I just never saw the appeal. I mean, bro, what is it with you and like fuzzy animals? I mean, we got like Lotto, we got Miss Piggy. Like, what are we doing here?

SPEAKER_01

Like, we're I want to describe Miss Piggy as well.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. Alright. Alright.

SPEAKER_02

I mean.

SPEAKER_01

I I think she's more like long.

SPEAKER_02

Alright. Um four and a half.

SPEAKER_01

Um yeah, you have the dream team combo of Miss Piggy and Sabrina Carpenter. It really can't get better than that. So four and a half out of five, it was a fun watch. I enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You enjoyed Plump Miss Piggy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Paired up with Sabrina Carpenter.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. Yeah. You know, plump is, yeah. Obviously, that's a word, you know, you'd use to record. Yeah, anyways. Um, yeah, I don't think I'll watch that movie. I'm not drawn to either the Muppets or Sabrina Carpenter.

SPEAKER_01

So what why have Sabrina Carpenter dancing with chickens?

SPEAKER_00

So that's what made it four and a half stars.

SPEAKER_01

And you have like the good old just Muppets humor, and everything goes wrong throughout the whole episode.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it's great. It's like watching Muppet Vision 3D, Rest in Peace, at Disney. But with Sabrina Carpenter.

SPEAKER_02

You get like two just like peaks. I would rather go do anything else other than that.

SPEAKER_01

You rather watch the Super Mario Galaxy movie.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? We'll make an exception for the Super Mario Sleeper movie. We'll make an exception for that. Um wouldn't rather do that.

SPEAKER_01

But you can't hate on it to watch it. It's just, it's it's a fun watch.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's fun. It's 35 minutes. It's short, it's entertaining. I enjoyed the whole show. I just don't know about I wish it was longer and all.

SPEAKER_00

I just don't know the Muppets. I don't know. Folks, let us know what you think about the Muppets. I don't know. I just I never saw the appeal to the Muppets. I just never, I just never did. But I also didn't watch the Muppets a lot. Um, but they just never never pulled me in. They never drew me in. You know, I was never drawn to Plump Miss Piggy. Alright. Um number.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I mean, I just I that was for Miss Piggy. Was it? Yeah. Plump Miss Piggy.

SPEAKER_00

Right, alright.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, number two. Number two.

SPEAKER_00

I also want to say, I'm going to go ahead and throw in, in addition to movies, I'm going to throw in a show to this as well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, which would bring my total to four. So I'll go ahead and throw one in here. So this is a show that just recently finished, and I it's peak. I can't, I can't get over it. It's peak. Um, you haven't seen it yet. It's the Mall show. Mall Shadow Lord, um, Star Wars show. Big Star Wars fan. Um, incredible, incredible show. Um, spoilers, by the way, spoilers for the folks at home. Um, dude, it was on it was on the TV in here the other night.

SPEAKER_01

You you know, you know, I can't say you know it.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but but Vader, Darth Vader showed into the show. I know, dude. Vader is Luke's follower. Did you know that? Is that crazy? Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Um he's Anakin Skywalker.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, no, he's not. Okay, okay. No, he's not. Don't worry about it.

SPEAKER_01

Thank God, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Um, we're also re-watching Star Wars right now. Fun fact. We are.

SPEAKER_01

Like, stay tuned for that.

SPEAKER_00

Stay tuned, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We're about to probably defend a lot of high ground.

SPEAKER_00

We got a lot of hot takes. Yeah. Yeah. Stay tuned for that. Um, let us know what you think about Star Wars. Also, let us know what you think about Maul as well. This one just wrapped up. Um, but yeah, no, um, incredible. Like Vader showing up at the end. I mean, they did his choreography so well. Like, just I feel like they he didn't speak one word.

SPEAKER_01

It looked peak from what I saw.

SPEAKER_00

He didn't that that is gonna be a spoiler for you and from back home, but yeah, Vader didn't speak one word, and they did it so well. Like, he just and there's not another villain, you know, in all of cinema, in all of any franchise ever, where they could just show on screen and not say a word, and and they they would have that kind of impact on the show.

SPEAKER_01

I think I saw a clip of Dave Filone, I think it was like today, just talking about like what makes Vader so special as a George Lucas character, and it's just like the pure anger. Like he literally just like beats down his opponent and just overwhelms them. And he just like he's just that strong.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, so good. Man, it's so good.

SPEAKER_01

He just he just like aura farms the second an opponent even remotely like tries to make a mark on Vader, he just beats him down.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, Aura, man. I mean, that's something like your word. Aura is like is like your scale, huh? That's how you're I mean, Lotto, Mr. Piggy.

SPEAKER_01

I I still don't think Vader could probably beat down on Lotto. I think I think Vader would get full in Sunnyside daycare.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Um Lotto would be Vader's daddy.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I don't think anyone, whenever someone thinks about just best villains. Like I think, you know, Heath Letter, Heath Ledger Joker comes to mind. Yeah. You know, Darth Vader.

SPEAKER_01

Of course. You know, and Lotto's right there in the conversation.

SPEAKER_00

Lotto is is nowhere. Like if you can't even see the conversation.

SPEAKER_01

If Vader's Washington on Mount Rushmore, Lotto's gotta Jefferson.

SPEAKER_00

Lotto's the is the dirt.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

Lotto is not even up there.

SPEAKER_01

He is right there. No, he's not. He's right there. He's not.

SPEAKER_00

I need to okay. To be fair, I need to re-watch Toy Story 3. I I need to re-watch this so I can actually have a fair take on this, but I just don't, I I hadn't heard that name, Lotso. I mean, probably since I was 10 or whatever when that movie came out.

SPEAKER_01

I just Yeah, you know, please, please let me know how great Lotto is as a villain. Because I know, like, if you're watching this, you have my back. Like, if you re-watch my story.

SPEAKER_00

You don't have to lie to him.

SPEAKER_01

You would be like, No.

SPEAKER_00

You would be like, no. He's got crazy. Why does a villain smell like strawberries? That's what they'd be saying.

SPEAKER_01

He's deceiving, bro. It just builds to his character. No. It builds to his character.

SPEAKER_00

It just doesn't. I I look, I'm a I'm a I'm a lasso hater, and so I watch it and and if it changes my mind, then I'll be I'll be the one to talk about it.

SPEAKER_02

Huh?

SPEAKER_01

Stick to bananas, bro, not strawberries.

SPEAKER_00

Bananas. You mean?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean bananas are fired. They are fire. Gotta have a lot of bananas. Oh, you were saying, bro, you eat bananas green? I had a guy, folks. I had a banana earlier. And this guy goes, this guy goes, I only eat bananas. No, you said bananas are the best when they're 60% green.

SPEAKER_01

60% green.

SPEAKER_00

That's unbelievable. That's terrible. No.

SPEAKER_01

Firm banana right here. It's not really mushy. There's no brown on it. It's like a little bit firm. Right. So you have to put a little bit of just like oh into that thing.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly like that. Is that how you do it too? Yeah. It's a little bit just like that. Exactly like that.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly like that. Um it's gotta be like 60% green. And so that means when you go to the store, you buy them when they're fully green. And they're perfect.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but the thing is you don't eat them when they're green. Anyways, okay, we're done talking about bananas. We know bananas are second you're lost cause on this. You're a lost cause on this.

SPEAKER_01

2026.

SPEAKER_00

Um, yes.

SPEAKER_01

I think this is where we might differ.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, what you got?

SPEAKER_01

Uh second best I have, Michael. Okay. Four and a half.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is where we're gonna we're gonna swap around. So what what did you think about Michael? What was what were your thoughts about it?

SPEAKER_01

My Michael in general, it was just I mean, it was extremely entertaining for a while. Um we we went as a group with some friends. Um the whole the whole audience was so fun. Um people dressed up like Michael Jackson.

SPEAKER_00

You had that one guy in the front at the very end. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He did the whole concert on the credits, yeah. Um, just the music. Um, Jafar Jackson like killed it. I I know there was some audio overlay and stuff, but when Jafar Jackson had to act like Michael and even like hit some vocals, dance like Michael Jackson, like he killed it. Like the resemblance was crazy. So everyone just already who's mad at the casting in the first place, hopefully, like Jafar proved them wrong. Because I think he did great. Um, it was honestly just like really entertaining. Um sometimes, like I think they could have maybe gone a little bit more in depth. There were a lot of just like skips that came out of nowhere where I felt like they're really building on one part of the story, then all of a sudden it just like shifted to something new. Which I know Michael Jackson has a crazy history, there's a lot to cover in his career and about his life. I'm all over the place, especially with like his family drama and stuff. But overall, like I think I think I told you this too. If there's one movie on my 4.5 list that was gonna get bumped up to a five, it'd probably be Michael. Um just because I had that much fun watching it.

SPEAKER_02

Um it was good. It's a blast. Blast of a movie, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so at my number two spot, I have Wobby, your number one, I have Project Tail Mary. Yeah. Um, which I believe on Letterboxd, I have it at a 4.5, I believe. Yeah. It's a 4.5 right now. Um I love the movie. I mean, it was a fantastic movie. I don't think, I don't think I haven't really heard one person say it was bad or say I think it shocked everybody. It was, yeah, it was it was not even on my radar of of movies that you know I was looking out for for the year. Um, but man, the the visuals, um, the acting, the cast. Yeah, I mean, Ryan Gossling just just stole it.

SPEAKER_01

I mean I mean, I think he was like born for that role.

SPEAKER_00

Best role I've seen him in inside him, like really close.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, his catalog of movies is just like insane in general. Like that could be a whole episode in and of itself, just talking about Ryan Gossing's movies. Yeah, because he picks his roles so perfectly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Which both of us don't need to see 2049, by the way, right? Neither of us have seen that. Yeah, which I've heard that's been terrible.

SPEAKER_01

I need to see Drive.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I've heard good things about drive.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Justin's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

There's some good ones, but honestly, just like entertaining movie.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, honestly, I think I've watched it four times since it came out. Uh I've had that much fun watching it. It's it's emotional, it's exciting. Um, some of the scenes are absolutely stunning. Um, I remember like literally like jaw dropping when the whole screen went red. Um it was just insane. Um, I had so much fun. The whole fishing scene was really entertaining. Probably the most fun I've had in the theater in a while was a Project Helm Mary. Uh and I cried too. I did cry in the movies. Crazy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So why why would you put Michael above Project Helm Mary?

SPEAKER_00

So so it's funny, as it's a good segue. You just said that you hadn't had that much fun watching a movie in a while, and I was thinking the same thing, except one movie recently. And that one movie that I had more fun watching than Project Hail Mary was was Michael. I I was I was leaned in, eyes glued to the screen the whole time. Like I just, especially that ending scene of um Lightning, uh bad. Yeah, I'm saying bad at the very end. Yeah, that last scene was just unbelievable. I felt like I was I had time traveled and I was watching a Michael Jackson concert, and it was uh, you know, there were I mean the crowd and there were you know shots of people like feigning in the crowd and um yeah, Jafar on that stage just you know unbelievable. I mean, yeah, so I would say that was I had so much fun. Like I think from the very beginning, when they did that first zoom in shot on his hometown, you know, and that in that like mining town, I thought it was so interesting because I was like, oh, this is where we're starting. And because you know where the movie's going the whole time, like you know he's gonna end up being global superstar. I mean, maybe the most famous person of all time, um, you know, other than like Jesus, you know, and so um yeah, you know, so um but yeah, like I just thought it was so cool watching his story, and there were a lot of things I didn't know really know about it. Um, even though I understand that that you know it was made by the Jackson family, and they wanted to show the best parts of his life, and you know, they wanted to paint him as you know best as possible. Yeah. Um, you know, and they left out a lot of controversial stuff, you know. Of course. I I think it was still just I think it did what it was trying to do. It did, and it did what it was what it was meant to do as a movie, you know, and I think it was just it was a blast, it was a fun time. Um, I walked out of that movie. Um I just had a Michael Jackson playlist playing for the next.

SPEAKER_01

I have been playing Michael Jackson all the time.

SPEAKER_00

I still do like crazy. I still do, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But but let's just take out the environment of both the movies, and you had to go back and you're just in your room, just like popcorn. You just got it up on TV in your own room. Are you choosing Michael over Project Hill Mary in a room by yourself?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, I I think I would yeah, I think just because when I'm watching a movie, I think like mainly I'm going for just like just want to have a like a fun time. Which again, I had fun watching Hail Mary. It's just, it's just I had fun watching Michael more than that. I just felt like it was more like kind of brainless. I mean, Hail Mary, a lot of it was especially like the whole build-up in the beginning, a lot of it was like pretty stressful. Like a lot of it's like very like high stakes, like the world's basically gonna end. Um, they're sending Ryan Gosselin's character on this like journey um to save the world. And like, you know, that one lady, I don't really remember her name, but she's intense. Like she's yeah, like in and she's you know, so it was a very like high-stakes movie, and it was a very epic movie, you know. Um, but I feel like Michael was also I'm pretty epic when just because you know where he's going, and it was just it was just fun. So yeah, I mean I would just be dancing to Michael Jackson, you know, and just singing his songs and the soundtrack, you know, and yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a couple things I was thinking about. It kind of kind of goes with both both of these movies so far, but kind of one of the first things I was just wondering. It's like kind of like last year, which this is gonna be, we'll probably cover this a little bit later because it's one of my all-time favorite movies, too. But Sinners, it came out early um to the next award season. Um, a lot of people think it wouldn't make a comeback for the Oscars, and it did make a comeback, and it won a lot of awards, is now the most nominated like picture of all time for the Oscars, which is absolutely insane. Do you think Michael or Project Hell Mary has any chance at the upcoming Academy? I mean, this is a stacked lineup of movies this year.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the only thing's gonna be the competition.

SPEAKER_01

Like, that's really what's gonna be because man, I mean, we're gonna we're gonna talk about it in just a little bit, but this year is like I would honestly say, and I think I mean it, if Project Hell Mary was in last year's cast of movies, it would have won. I don't think Michael would have, because the the the critics aren't too much of a fan of Michael. Um Michael is much more appealed to the audience like us.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I would agree.

SPEAKER_01

Project Hell Mary, I think it would have beat out one battle after another. I don't think I don't I don't think I saw that one. I I haven't seen it either, yeah. But like the response critic-wise and just audience-wise, fan-wise, of the movie itself. I think I think it would have cleared. But does it have enough momentum to carry it a whole year through the Oscars? Compared when you're gonna have like the Odyssey.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna have um Spider-Man. Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_00

Um that will make the Oscars. Yeah, no, it won't be the Oscar.

SPEAKER_01

But you're gonna have um Digger with Tom Cruise is supposed to be phenomenal when that comes out. Um there's a couple other ones I'm thinking about. There's the movie with Sebastian Stan that people are heavily saying um it's gonna be a great movie. There's a couple others out there too. Um Michael was one that people considered could be in that um period. Um we often touch. I mean the Odyssey. Yeah. I mean, we often see like um people who play in biopics be nominated for best actor. Do you think Jafar's gonna be in the best actor conversation?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Even even with I mean, if he's not, he really should. I mean, I think even the critics have gotta see that Jafar is like that role is just a once in a because you just don't like you won't have that ever again.

SPEAKER_01

He did it well.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I mean, he did it. I believe he did it well. I mean, about as well as you can do it. I mean, I think I was having this conversation with a buddy the other day, you know. I think like that role and him playing that role as as his uncle, you know, and like that's that's such a a once in a lifetime.

SPEAKER_01

To be related to Michael Jackson, too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and like there's only one, you know, there's only one superstar like Michael Jackson.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, pressure too, like his first big role like that ever. First acting role. And he had to step in the shoes of the greatest musician of all time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Which is crazy. So I do think he will definitely be in consideration, but once again, you've got to have Tom Cruise. Um, Timothy's, they're probably gonna give Timothy another nomination. And I feel like this year, they're probably gonna make a push for him to win. Do you think he's gonna get it? I don't think he will. Um, I think Sebastian Stan, once again, I think he'll probably have a really good chance. I think Tom Cruise will win it this year with Digger. Um, I think this is a year Tom Cruise does it, kind of gets out of his shell, a little bit of Mission Impossible. Um, I would love to see Ryan Goslin get nominated for Project Hill Mary because I know it was a it was a fun movie, but I think no one else could have played that role as well as Ryan Gossel. And it was, I think people say too like if you want people to go to the movies, you gotta pop out movies like Project Hill Mary because that brought people to the theater.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then obviously Michael Mike Jackson will bring people to the theater too. And then my other follow-up, this is once again on Project Hell Mary, just because I am a Glazer. This guy has, yeah, four times. I do love it. I think it has cracked my second favorite movie of all time as Project Hell Mary, which is absolutely crazy. Project Hail Mary vs Interstellar.

SPEAKER_02

Which one do you choose and why? Oh it's tough.

SPEAKER_00

It's actually I think I think I'd go with with Hail Mary. I actually I think I would, which is probably a hot take. I mean I think a lot of people are I would agree. I think a lot of people are going, I mean, yeah, second favorite movie of all time, you know. I think a lot of people are gonna would go Interstellar, you know, but um yeah, I mean I I think Hail Mary I was I actually thought this while I was watching. I just think it's it's like it has it has this lightheartedness to it, you know. It's that Ryan Gosling brings to it. It's fun. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um it's got beautiful space scenes, the plot's fun. Um, you can like watching um Grace's and Rocky's relationship together is like it's so fun, it's emotional. Not to say like Interstellar is very emotional as well, but it's like it's very confusing. Um music's beautiful, but like I could also like probably re-watch Project Tell Mary like three times before I think about re-watching Interstellar again. Just because Interstellar is one of those movies where I like to like watch it every now and then, like really appreciate it, but it's not one that I can watch like three times a week. What would you feel like I could do that with Project Hell Mary.

SPEAKER_00

What would you like? What's your gut instinct of Interstellar at five stars? Like, what do you like Letterboxd? If you're a Letterboxd to review Interstellar.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it would still be five, probably.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um, it's still like one of the greatest movies I've ever watched, but I think just like humorous movies and the kind of the way Project Hell Mary like attacked that, I think it's just more up my alley.

SPEAKER_00

See, because I think I think Inception is better than Interstellar. I'm a huge Inception guy. Well, yeah. Inception's A.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_00

Shout out to all my people who love Inception. No, it like Inception's good.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe, maybe I've heard it gets better after the second watch. Once you like pick up on everything after your first one and then you re-watch it again. I haven't watched it twice. So maybe I need to do that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you have another watch. I'll give Interstellar another watch. It's been a long time since I've seen Interstellar, but Inception is it's incredible. It's a great one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I still think Interstellar might be no one's best movie. We'll we'll see what the Odyssey has to offer.

SPEAKER_00

We'll see. Um dude, I don't know. I don't know about the Odyssey, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I don't.

SPEAKER_00

I don't I don't know about it.

SPEAKER_01

It peep people online are scaring me.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, do you see the trailer?

SPEAKER_01

It's the trailer. I think some parts look peak, some parts look iffy.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, that one line of Tom Holland, man. Yeah. Of like my dad.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's just like how hard is it to say father? You know, just something that just sounds more elegant, you know, something more fitting of the times. Like my dad will I mean I don't even remember the line, but he's something about his dad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll we'll we'll we'll see how it goes. Yeah. I was already skeptical just about the casting in general.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, like we got Travis Scott in the Odyssey before we considered recasting Killian Murphy. Uh maybe Kelly Murphy wouldn't have been a good fit for the Odyssey, but just like you know, quest questionable casting decisions, I think on my end. But I'm gonna trust Christopher Nolan and I'm still gonna go in excited singing in IMAX 110%.

SPEAKER_02

Have to.

SPEAKER_01

You have to.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I I will I will too.

SPEAKER_01

Worst comes to worst. I get to see Ann Hathaway. See, hey, now you're on the In Hatway train. See? Still not Miss Piggy, but you know, Ann Hatha.

SPEAKER_00

Sky in his plump Miss Piggy. Yeah. I mean, this is just unbelievable.

SPEAKER_01

What are you gonna do about it?

SPEAKER_00

Just turn the movie off, right? Just turn that John off. And then I'll turn on Toy Story 3. And then I'll just talk about Lotso again. Yeah. And then you should turn that off.

SPEAKER_01

Whatever. Whatever. But those were like, we haven't seen many movies in Twin 26. We're working on it. Working on it. Um, I have a whole list um of movies I want to watch that are coming out this year. There's still some good ones that have came out that we haven't seen yet. So a lot to grind, a lot to look forward to. I guess jumping into our next segment.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So next segment we just got some some updates, some news updates. Um, just some stuff going on and you know, movies, shows, stuff like that. I only had a couple. Um, it didn't seem like there was a you know a huge week of of updates. There was one that was really interesting that I saw floating around social media that I'll get to in one second. But the this first one, that's actually a movie I've never asked you about. I don't really know if you've seen these movies. Um it's uh have you seen the The Creed movies? Any any of the Creed movies of Michael B. Jordan's?

SPEAKER_01

I've never seen any of the Creeds. I know I should.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I know I should.

SPEAKER_00

I think I'm I think I've only seen the first one. I might have seen the second one. I mean, I've great.

SPEAKER_01

He knows. I think I glazed Michael B. Jordan and Sinners for months. I made him go watch it. This guy drove me to the theater.

SPEAKER_00

This guy said, Come watching. And did you regret it? No, it was it was a good movie.

SPEAKER_01

It was a good movie. It is like a Ryan Kugler masterpiece. Um, and I know he's like the brain behind Creed too. So I'm sure they're great movies.

SPEAKER_00

Great movies. Yeah, so the the news update on that was that Matthew B. Jordan confirmed um a filming start date for a new Creed spin-off. So not an exact, not for a Creed movie, but a Creed spin-off. So same kind of universe there. Yeah. Um second update. Um, so Lord of the Rings, you'd be Lord of the Rings fan. You like Lord of the Rings?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm not gonna lie, I I've watched the movies as a kid. They're like at the top of my list of movies to re-watch as a series. Same here. Um just because like just recently I've rewatched all the Harry Potters again, including Fantastic Beast, which is I'm sorry for this guy. Yeah, we can we can ignore. Yeah, we can ignore those three movies. I've not watched them ever because you don't have them. Yeah, uh, it's just like I mean they're bad. I I don't know what else to say. It's just they're they're like objectively just like boring and bad. Um, I think I'd rather rather watch Prisoner of Baskaband, like, and that's my le it's my least favorite Harry Potter movie. Which is a hot take in and of itself. Crazy. I think I'd rather watch Prisoner of Basketband over and over again any of the basic beasts.

SPEAKER_00

I like Prisoner of Basketball. But that's a whole separate thing, but Lord of the Rings. Yeah, so the the update on that was um the Rings of Power show, which I've heard about it. I've heard about it's Lord of the Rings, Rings of Power. Um season three of that show um got a premier date. So they have a date lockdown for the season three of that show. I've heard about it. Um I haven't watched it or anything, but you know, Lord of the Rings. I need to, yeah, I have no I have no idea. I'm sorry if we're offending anyone in the audience.

SPEAKER_01

Uh if you're like a middle-earth dweller, dweller, laser, whatever you want to call it, yeah, they're probably stoked about this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So yeah, big uh big update there.

SPEAKER_01

But when I watch it again, I will watch the extended cut for all you middle dwellers.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, middle earth dwellers, whatever you want to call it. So the next um update, which is the the last of the three, um, the one I've seen floating around social media is the hentai virus. Yes, I think you said it just a little wrong. I think there's just a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, all I know is there was a lot of hentai on that boat.

SPEAKER_00

Again, I I I I don't think that's I think you might be saying it like a little I mean a little wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Um What what whether I'm saying it wrong or right, all right, they should definitely stay on the boat with their hentai.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah. Um not the update I was I was going for actually. Yeah, not the one. Um so the one I was gonna talk about was that um there is talk about them actually legitimately Disney rebooting the sequel trilogy and actually steering away from it and and kind of branching off a new timeline. How they would do this is apparently um a long time ago, I did watch Star Wars Rebels. I haven't seen it in a long time. Um the the show, great show. I do remember being a great show, but in that show, there's um this place is called The World Between Worlds. Um, I don't know if you've heard about this or seen this show. So it is a canon thing. It's it's um it was actually shown in the Ahsoka show, the live action show that came out what a couple years ago. Yeah um it's essentially this kind of like astral like plane that you that you can like travel between time and it's and so people are are are theorizing they're gonna use that to somehow branch off away from all of the sequels. And there's been some leaks about this, apparently from insiders like at you know Lucasfilm and stuff. Apparently it's it's really ramped up recently. I've seen it a couple times, and and um, you know, I'm hoping because I I am not a big sequels fan at all.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think the sequels have their moments, and I think probably in our next episode I can dive into my thoughts about the sequels a little bit more. I do think there's some there are some good moments and a lot of the bad. A lot of the bad a lot, a lot of bad in those movies. Um like they fly now.

SPEAKER_00

They've like did you know somehow Palpatine returns.

SPEAKER_01

Somehow he returned and they fly now. And they fly now, and they fly now.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, yeah, interesting.

SPEAKER_01

It'd be it'd be very interesting to see how they do that because I feel like a lot of just projects in general in the Star Wars universe are just like failing the Acolyte cancelled after one season.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, um and it's just like I didn't watch it.

SPEAKER_01

You know, you know, um it'd be very interesting to see if what you're saying is true, is if they're actually planning on making something good or they're just gonna do something completely fan servicey that would just still be bad.

SPEAKER_00

Um which knowing Star Wars, yeah, it might be that.

SPEAKER_01

But I I'm excited to see what happens in the future.

SPEAKER_00

Because man, they could do so much better.

SPEAKER_01

They could.

SPEAKER_00

They could have done better with what they had in episode seven, you know. They had they had the potential of you know, Finn coming in as a you know, ex stormtrooper into a Jedi would have been so cool. Would have been awesome. So cool. Yeah. And so they went with Ray and and she just cookie cutter, you know, a hero, just you know, copy of Luke, you know. Well, yeah, that's another discussion. But yeah, that was another um another update. That's not like an official, that's just a rumor that I've seen going around here and there. And so um, yeah, you know, he knows where that would go. Um but yeah, so next we have um we have a draft. So this is gonna be this is gonna be a draft of movies that are coming out in 2026. And before I explain it anymore, I do just want to say um this is from the Escape Pod a podcast I both followed. Shout out those guys, those guys are great, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like honestly, like inspirations in this scene. 100%. Like like two guys just having a good time cutting up, yeah, talking about whatever they want to.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, love those guys. And so they they do this segment where they draft movies from the year um that they're trying to predict um the total grossing. They're trying to we're basically competing for who's gonna have the highest grossing list. Um, so we're picking for movies um this year, in which you have a top five, and at the end of the year, um, we add up all the movies, you know, the total earnings of all the movies, and whoever has the highest um wins.

SPEAKER_01

So we have it'll be fun to like revisit this if we actually remember uh you know that's the hard part right there. But it'll be fun to see if our projections or projections come true.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And also I if if you guys have any suggestions for what the the loser does, you know, let us know. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We a loser punishment.

SPEAKER_00

Loser punishment would be hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and our one rule going into it is that a movie that's already been released so far this year, we cannot include, or I think we would both just immediately jump on Super Mario Galaxy. Yeah, as as booty as that movie is.

SPEAKER_00

Terrible that was a that was a hard booty, right? I mean that was like I mean, it's bad.

SPEAKER_01

Pause a little bit, but that was it's it's bad. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, like, like if I wanted to see booty, like just like Miss Piggy dialed me up. All right, so uh yeah, we're gonna go into our top five draft. Um, and so it's gonna be a pretty plump draft. Sorry. Um, it's gonna be a you know, draft of five movies. Yeah, yeah. Um Miss Piggy home. Yeah. All right. Um top five. Um I have a coin. I did find the coin. I know we were looking for one. This thing is like really dirty, actually. So um, well, you want to call it in the air, I'll flip it, you call it in the air.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, call it in the air. Whoever wins gets to choose which spot they go in, um, snake draft style. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um so yeah, they're gonna pick. So, you know, we're gonna have a one, and then the person's gonna be two, three, and then that two, three spots OP. Yeah, it is. Yeah, it's uh it's it is it is OP.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm gonna call um just out of inspiration up booty and um Miss Piggy's booty in particular. Tells never fails.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Tales it is. Um so again, we want to go so one person's gonna do one, the other person's gonna do two, three. Yeah. And then we want to do four, five, or do we want to do four, five?

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, so it'd be like one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. It's just basically normal snake draft. Um, you get two picks in a row after the first guy gets.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah. So we're doing we're doing ten movies.

SPEAKER_01

Or I guess it's it's five each, but it's gonna be ten picks total. Ten picks total.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Right. Okay. All right, yeah, yeah. All right, so you said you're going tails, or yeah, tails. Shout out this piggy. Right. I mean, can we get a Miss Piggy counter? And this is three, all right. This is crazy. Too much Miss Piggy.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Can we get image of a spy? Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

It's oh and it's in my shoes. It's in his crop. Shout out cross.

SPEAKER_01

Ready, shout out cross.

SPEAKER_00

By the way, all right.

SPEAKER_01

Ready, ready. I didn't move the coin.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

It's it is it is tails. It is tails. It is tails. It is tails. Miss Piggy, Miss Piggy never fails me. No, it's so I'm I am taking that two three spot. He's taking the two three. So you do get that number one pick.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Yeah, I mean, at the number one, um, I mean, as no shock to anybody, I think I'm I'm gonna go Avengers Doomsday. Um, I don't think that's any any shock. I think if I didn't go that as my number one, um, I would instantly lose. Uh so I think you have to. So Avengers Doom Day, we're gonna go Doomsday. We're gonna go number one. So you got the two, three. Again, this is this is the the power spot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think I think number two is also, I think you can maybe start switching things around at the three spot. But I think number two is clearly Spider-Man brand new day. Um I don't think you can go wrong with picking a Marvel movie. Doomsday is obviously probably the most overhyped movie I've ever seen. It's either gonna be like insanely peak or just complete.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, they started a timer, they started a tie a 12-month timer on YouTube. It's been live the whole time. It's 12 months. Crazy.

SPEAKER_01

It's crazy. Wow. But then you can't you can't go wrong with Spider-Man. Um Tom Holland says Spider-Man, it's gonna pull people like crazy. Now the number number this next pick, um, once again, I feel like I could take it in maybe two or three different directions. Um but I'm really gonna trust Christopher Nolan here. I'm gonna be Odyssey.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, okay. Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. That's a that's a big pick for you. I I don't think that was that's not what I was expecting.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's gonna be Nolan's first movie that just clears a billion. Um, I think the Odyssey, once again, you have Nolan. I think Nolan after Oppenheimer has gained even more of a reputation where people are more excited to see his movies. And I think the Odyssey just in general, a story alone and pulling people who normally don't go into movies. Um and Oppenheimer came so close to breaking that a billion mark, I don't see any reason why the Odyssey won't storm past it.

SPEAKER_00

That's I'm I'm I'm kind of shocked. I didn't think that's where you were gonna go for number Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean for the number of things. I mean I think I know where you're gonna go next, and yeah, I think I didn't go there because I'm just not a fan.

SPEAKER_00

Um I think I might I might actually shock you here. I think for for my number three or for for the number four, um, for the number four pick, I I think I think I'm gonna go Mandalorian and Gargu. I think I think it's really I think it's gonna make a lot. I think it's gonna pull in a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Really? I I would not have it there at all.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think it's I think it's just gonna pull a lot. Um, I don't know if it's gonna be incredible, but I I think it's gonna pull a lot. Yeah. Um we'll we'll talk about we'll talk more about that. I I'm not the most excited for Manal Learning Grogu. Um, I think ever since Disney realized how much of a money farm uh Grogu was, I think they just marketed him and it's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

I think it barely makes 600 million.

SPEAKER_00

Um okay. I think it's gonna make more. I think I think it's gonna make more.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll see. It's a toss up. Brad now, some of the things I've seen, a lot of people are saying it's great. Some of them are still saying they think it might be a box office flop just comparatively to the budget and how many people they think because there's a lot of people out there who are just not gonna go because they don't like Disney Star Wars, which is unfortunate. Um Star Wars, like e even like like even like the sequel or whatever you want to call them, the new movies, um, they were still entertaining despite them being pretty bad. Star Wars is is an entertaining franchise. I do have fun in every single one of the movies. Um Yeah, I mean, I mean it But I don't mind the pick. I think I think it's a little bit risky, but I mean it's risky.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I I I think it's gonna pull people. I mean, we'll see. You know, I I should be off. Um if it doesn't pull a lot, that's that's that's fine. I have heard some people often say it's it might be a flop. Um, but but yes, that's gonna be my number my number two, the number four on the whole list. Um the number five, my number three, um, I think I'm gonna go with with what I think you thought I was gonna say a second ago, which is gonna be Dune part three. I think I think Dune's gonna be Dune's gonna be up there. Um yeah, I think that movie's gonna do well. I think there's a lot of hype around that movie, especially after Timothy Shalom at the recent Oscars, um, and how he posted that poster on Instagram right the day after. Um I think there's a lot of hype surrounding that movie. It's the last movie in the trilogy.

SPEAKER_01

I think the whole Doomsday, the Dune and um Doomsday combo, yeah, is gonna raise the numbers of both the movies. So Doomsday's still gonna clear Dune just because Marvel is gonna pull more people than Dune and June.

SPEAKER_00

I'm really banking on December here.

SPEAKER_01

Like, the December's gonna be uh I'm going really summer heavy right now.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Um so what you got as your as your number six.

SPEAKER_01

So my number six, my number three pick, I think I don't see any way this movie doesn't go over a billion two. Um I personally think this movie looks really fun. Some people might be a little bit scared about it after the fourth installation of this franchise. Um, but I'm really excited about this one. I think this franchise was my favorite franchise as a kid, super close to my heart. Um, I'm going Toy Story 5. Okay. Um I think I think Pixar movies, when they bring back their most popular IPs, um, it goes crazy. I think this, besides Hoppers and Super Mario Galaxy, is gonna be like the next big movie that families can go see in general. Um, I also think a lot of families might just want to go take their kids to be like, look how fun it is to not be an iPad kid. I mean, more parents need to do that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you know, I don't want to see kids laying on couches kicking their feet watching cocoa melon.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean no, they shouldn't be doing that anymore. They should um like go like try and find a four-leaf clover or some old crap like that.

SPEAKER_00

I mean anything but being iPad, yeah. Yeah, you know, anything but cocoa melon.

SPEAKER_01

But honestly, like like I'm a fan, like some people are like, oh, this doesn't look great. Um, I think it's gonna be a good message. I think it's a really Pixar message for them to do. I mean it's Toy Story. Um really iconic characters, you can't go wrong. Um now this fourth this fourth spot. For me, um, I guess seventh pick in the draft. Um, I kind of want to take this one in multiple different directions. Um, I kind of have two that are like really jumping out at me right now. But I think I'm gonna take disclosure day. Um, okay. Um, it's Spielberg back on the big screen again. Um, I think this is gonna be a really big blockbuster hit. I think people are excited to go see kind of a thriller like this movie. I'm gonna be excited. Um just overall think outside of those like I think the first six were probably the clear six.

SPEAKER_00

Um I feel like this one's right up there with um yeah, I actually hadn't heard much about this movie, but um, but yeah, when I was doing research for this, um I remembered I because I heard from somewhere that a Spielberg movie was releasing, so this this would be it. Um yeah, not so it's a solid pick. It's a great one. Yeah. Um yeah, these next couple, so just to clarify, now I'm doing am I doing four or five? Got it. Um yes, my last two picks. These are hard. I feel like we nailed we nailed the big ones. These last ones are are gonna be toss-ups.

SPEAKER_01

Um, just you wait. My sleeper pick's still here.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, all right. I'm I'm ready for it. You've been talking about the sleeper picks like the whole night. Yeah. Um all right, so yeah, I think I think for my for my four, I I think I'm gonna go a movie that I think is gonna pull a lot of people from from all ages. I think um it's gonna be a big family movie. Um, I enjoy the franchise, you know, been kind of growing up with it since I was pretty little. Um, first movie's a great one. Um, I think they've all made like well near a billion dollars. Um, it's it's a big franchise still in the universal IP specifically. Um, we're gonna go minus three.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes, oh you would see that list, dude.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks, dude. What a sleeper pick.

SPEAKER_01

Dude, they all make over ability again.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a sleeper pick. They clear ability every time. And honestly, I don't know how at this point. Yeah, I don't either. They progressively get worse.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, I just yeah, I I haven't seen them in so long. Like I I just, you know, but like like you were saying, uh, I was looking at the the box office earnings for the recent The Civil Well Mimi movies, and yeah, man, they they all they you know they pulled in, you know, they they rank it in, like they really do. So yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go minions three.

SPEAKER_01

No, um good solid pick. Yeah, I that might be my favorite pick you've made.

SPEAKER_00

I think that's yeah, that's yeah. I mean it's gonna be hard beats.

SPEAKER_01

Huge on like just waiting for him to fall to me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Should have traded up, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. I'll take the minions. There's some there's a dude there's I mean, this people made one. What a great movie. What a fun movie. Yeah, man, love that movie. Um, all right, yeah, so that's me my number my number four. Um, the number eight, picking the draft. Number nine, you're really bummed out about that, huh?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I'm I'm heartbroken. The only thing that could probably make me feel better is if I was just like I was just like in a bathtub.

SPEAKER_00

Don't say Miss Piggy.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, I'm gonna I'm just in a bathtub. Um just warm water, you know, candles like rose petals, floating candles, like dark ambient, just vibes, maybe some smooth jazz play, and grapes are being fed into my mouth by Miss Piggy. Okay, all right, all right. We're not okay, all right.

SPEAKER_00

Um, okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That would really make my day right.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, um, like and subscribe for Miss Piggy on the plane. They may computer as a guest. Okay. Um right, yes. I'd be I'd be mouthwhat. Um yeah, I I you would have to like probably stand outside the the room. Yeah, yeah. You couldn't stand up, actually. Alright. Um yeah. Alright. All right, um yeah, that's that's yeah, fifth picking. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Ninth picking the draft.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, nine picking the draft. Um yeah, so this this last one's to toss up. Um it's yeah, it's a hard one. I'm I'm between like three. I think there's there's there's a there's a there's a couple where I think they all might there's a couple that could they all might make a lot. This is this is a hard one. I think for this, I think for this last one, I think my my gut, I think, I think it's for you know, the younger audiences, I think there's a lot of, you know, again, specifically the younger demographic, because a lot of them are are fans of this specific character in this specific movie. And um I I'm I'm gonna go Moana, live action Moana.

SPEAKER_01

I think that's gonna be that's gonna be up there. Yeah, I I I I didn't have that one on my board. I think like I feel like it's almost a safe pick just because it's Disney. It's uh it's just like I was looking at the other live action. It's one of the most popular um movies.

SPEAKER_00

It's popular the other again. This is this is specifically a highest grossing list. This is not like anticipation, you know. I I don't think I'll see that I haven't seen any of the live action remakes of any you know, but I I think I was looking at them, you know, the live action remakes of the princess movies. It did. Leto and Stitch made over a billion dollars. Um I think before that was it. I'm trying to remember what the other one was before that one, was it?

SPEAKER_01

Snow White, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Snow White. And that one was, I think it was 800. It was a it was a lot.

SPEAKER_01

I still I thought it flopped.

SPEAKER_00

I think it was a lot. I could know what's the one.

SPEAKER_01

Little Mermaid made a lot. Um Speed in the Beast, when the Lion King, uh they made the Foss movie too, which Fawcett was really bad.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I never saw you, you I heard you say how terrible that one was.

SPEAKER_01

Um but general, it's like a safe pick. It will it will make money.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, never mind, it did flop. You were right. Yeah. It's like 200. Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Snow White flopped.

SPEAKER_00

I think flop.

SPEAKER_01

Most of the relative other ones did pretty successful.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but see, I think Snow White is just an older. I think Moana's gonna do well because it's such a popular character.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Moana will go just because she's popular. It's wanna. If they did a live action frozen, like easy 1.6 bill.

SPEAKER_00

Like, yeah. I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's kind of clean.

SPEAKER_00

It's a safe pick, you know. It's it's it's a I think it's a reliable pick. We'll see if the fact that she's popular is gonna raise it that much. I didn't know Snow White flopped that much. Um, it could flop, it could not do as well as I'm hoping it's gonna do. Don't make money. But we're I think it'll do good, but yeah, that's gonna be my number five. So they'll round off my list there. So do you know? I'm eager to hear. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Mandalorian Gorgu, Doom Part Three, Minions and Monsters, a lot of.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That's gonna be my top five.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this fifth spot's hard for me. Yeah. There's a couple. I think I'm in between three, huh? I considered the new Hunger Games movie for a while. Yep. Um, I just know like Hunger Games in general, they all made a lot of movies.

SPEAKER_00

They all made a lot of money too.

SPEAKER_01

The Sunrise of the Reaping, I think that was like the last one that came out with Rachel Ziegler in it. Speaking of Snow White, it only made like 300 mil. Okay. So I'm kind of hesitant to choose this next Hunger Games. I think it has a high ceiling, but also very low floor. So I'm kind of scared. I also thought about a movie called Masters of the Universe. Um, it's kind of like a He-Man movie. Um, I think it's gonna pull in a lot of unks, and the unks are gonna drag their kids and families to go see the movie.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Um You think unks are gonna they're gonna do it?

SPEAKER_01

Like my personally, like I know my dad loved He-Man. I think I've watched randomly seen it on his TV, like my own dad's TV. And honestly, I'm gonna go see it. It looks pretty good. Um, bringing like kind of that He-Man vibe to our generation of people. So I think it has potential to make a lot of money just based on that alone. But I'm kind of taking a safe pick here with my number five. Um, these movies, they always make money. I don't think I've seen a single one of them.

SPEAKER_00

Man knows you're gonna pick.

SPEAKER_01

Picking Jumanji. Jumanji, yeah. That was that was yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm going Jumanji. That was um yeah. That's that's I think that's your best pick of the ones you were. I mean, I'm gonna be honest, that last one you said, the unclean, I have never heard of that movie. Yeah, I don't think.

SPEAKER_01

That would have been a risky one. That would have been a that would have been a dice roll. Because I didn't have a one on my board. I would have picked Masters of the Universe if you haven't done Jumanji. Um But yeah, I just think it's gonna make close to a bill.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's just Jumaji.

SPEAKER_00

It's they've all made up there. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Somehow, somehow, some way. Maybe it's because it's Kevin Hart and The Rock.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Jack Black and Karen Dillon.

SPEAKER_00

I just like Yeah. I think it's just Kevin Hart and The Rock. I think all the like behind the scenes stuff that the rock posts on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, them alone, like them two together, is like peak advertising.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, undoubtedly. No, that's your best pick. I was but yeah, on my last one, I was between Moana, Hunger Games, and Jumanji. Those are the three I was I was awesome between. Or I guess in my last couple. Um yeah, my number five. So okay, so yeah, we got just to recap, we have um we have Jacob, BZ, Spider-Man, Brand New Day, um, The Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Disclosure Day, and Jumanji. Really solid list. Um, and I'm coming up with Avengers Doomsday, Mandalorian and Grogu, Doom Part 3, Mannness 3, and Moana. Um Doomsday alone will like give you a good like a lot.

SPEAKER_01

That will give you a good. I mean, is it I think it will be the highest gross movie in the middle.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think it might do you think it's gonna crack two bills?

SPEAKER_01

I think it could. I think it will crack two bill.

SPEAKER_00

You think so? Yeah. I just think it's gonna be such a like people are gonna have to go see that movie. Like, straight up. I mean, unless it's just unless it gets out early that it's not good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I gotta hope like Toy Stories 5 has some like crazy pool like Zootopia 2 did. You know? Yeah, that was that was out of nowhere. 1.8 billion like last year.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's the it's the it's the highest Grossing animated movie of all time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, besides like Najaw 2 from Japan.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, which I don't know what that is. I mean couldn't tell, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, if you're from Japan. No, I didn't know. Yeah, my bad. That's that's on me. But like I don't know game like that.

SPEAKER_00

No, I have no idea.

SPEAKER_01

But American, like domestic wise, yeah, it's cleared.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's Topia 2. Yeah, so um you were you said you were hoping that for what, Jumanji? Like you're hoping like kind of a a random movie like that for Jumanji?

SPEAKER_01

No, just like Toy Story 5. Oh, Toy Story 5. I mean, dude, I think Toy Story 5 is gonna be Yeah, I think I think it'll make a bill easy. I hope so, for my own sake. Um, whatever punishment y'all might have in mind.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um it's gonna be quite the punishment I'm scared of. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But my my only thing I'm scared about for you is I'm scared about that Mandalorian and Grogu pick.

SPEAKER_00

You think you don't think that's a good one? You don't think it's a good good pick?

SPEAKER_01

I I I don't think it is. Maybe let's talk about Mandalorian and Grogu pick.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we can let's let's talk about it quick on the Mr. Well while we're on the topic.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's coming out in a couple weeks.

SPEAKER_00

Um Yeah, again, like you were it's been what since the last Star Wars movie? It's been like eight. Eight years. Eight years, which is crazy.

SPEAKER_01

So again, no stars on the big screen for eight years.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Last one was solo.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, I think it was which was, I mean, yeah, 2018.

SPEAKER_01

Which was uh crazy, right?

SPEAKER_00

It's okay. Um It was fun. It's hard to see anyone else. Forgettable. Very, very forgettable. Very forgettable. It's hard to see anyone else Harrison Ford in that role.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was hard to picture someone as Harrison Ford. I think whoever don't even remember his name.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know his name.

SPEAKER_01

I think he did still a good job for not being Harrison Ford. I think it was a good backstory. I think it was fun. Yeah. I think it's just like people don't like it as much because it wasn't Harrison Ford, but Harrison Ford was never gonna do a movie like that.

SPEAKER_00

No. No. Gosh, no. No, I don't think I don't think at that time like the aging tech was there. I don't think it was yeah. I don't think it was there. But no, I think like just to to round out my my pick there, I think again, it's been eight move eight years since the last Star Wars movie. Um, I think the just baby Yoda, just that whole marketing is is I think it's gonna pull people into the theaters. Um, but at the same time, marketing for that movie has at the same time, I've heard not been great. It's been pretty bad. It's been pretty shaky at the same time.

SPEAKER_01

It's been picking up in the next in the past few weeks. I think obviously May the 4th sturg is Star Wars. So anything that drops in May is kind of like Star Wars month, and so they can pick up on momentum starting the fourth and kind of go from there. It still hasn't been great though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, hasn't been great. Um so yeah, there's a lot of people that think it's not gonna pull a lot, you know. So it really could flop. I I have thought that it's it's not gonna do well. Yeah, you know, I I you know, but it is Star Wars, um, it is first movie in eight years. Um, I think a lot of people are gonna go out to see it, but we'll see, you know. But I I do think, yeah, I think I I I personally not the biggest fan. I I'm not looking forward to it much.

SPEAKER_01

Um which which is where I think we differ on both fronts of Mandalorian and Grogu in terms of that. Because I for one think it's gonna be a flop. Um I think it will still make profit, not much. Um, I think people are scared of Disney Star Wars. Um I think they might be pushed away by the last Mandalorian season, which I still thought was pretty entertaining, but was definitely a tier below the first two seasons of the show. And um a lot of people weren't a big fan of the trailer. Um, some of the things that have come out about early screenings, I've seen have been good and some I've been bad. It's very mixed right now. I really can't get a gauge. But I just think even despite the appeal of it being Star Wars on the big screen for eight years, I think it will pull a good amount of money, but not as much as people think it will. But for one, I'm excited for it. Um I'm pumped. I think I think it's just gonna be peak bounty hunter action. Um, from what I've seen from the plot with the whole like pulling a card, um, the huts, a bunch of fighting. I think it's just gonna be the man, Loren, and Grogu. They're bounty hunted, they get into trouble, it develops into a whole situation, and they're just like fighting people like crazy. And I literally think like that's the whole plot, and I think Star Wars needs something like that. They're not trying to go too edgy, they're not trying to build some crazy plot, bring in all these weird characters. They're like, no, we know the Star Wars universe, we're gonna bring in the huts, despise villains, they run the underground, they're gonna get involved with it while trying to fight people, and it's just gonna be straight up just like pure bounty hunter action. I think it's gonna be entertaining. Um I really think we're just gonna get perspective from a bounty hunter. I think it's gonna be kind of what we want to see out of the book of Boba Fett, which was horrible. Um, I think we all wanted to watch that show and just see Boba Fett.

SPEAKER_00

Do you remember the speeder scene in that movie? Yeah. Do you remember that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's 15 miles.

SPEAKER_00

I think we could run faster than that. I think we could. Yeah. I think biking, we would fly by them. The bikes just like if we biked past them, we would the red, blue, yellow bikes.

SPEAKER_01

I just it was so random. Like, literally, like that whole show just felt like the worst Mandalorian season. It was terrible.

SPEAKER_00

Like it felt like Mandalorian season two and a half. It felt like it felt like a Mandalorian.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like I think. We wanted to see Boba do stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Which we didn't. He's one of the most loved characters. Yeah. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think there were things in that in that show that you needed to watch before watching Mano Season 3. I think there were literally things that if you didn't watch them in Book of Boba Fett, you wouldn't understand.

SPEAKER_01

It was like two and a half, season two and a half of the show. Yeah. But that being said, I think this movie will provide some of what we really want to see out of the Book of Boba Fett. I think it'll really go back into just like peak Star Wars, just good action, actually not trying to be something more, but it's just like the universe that we know and appreciate. Which is why I'm excited.

SPEAKER_00

Here's where you're wrong. Is the little green dude. So you might you're thinking that they might not try to go too high and go too grand and go too like, you know, big Star Wars thing, but I'm worried they might go too low. They might stoop down to their wallets a little bit and be like, huh, we can use a little more money. Let's get the green guy out. Let's put him on the big screen. Let's let's have Grogu do some little force abilities with some some frogs, and let's have him push some buttons and you know, it's whoa, well before you keep going, like first off, you're saying green guy.

SPEAKER_01

Then you mention frog. Kermit's my op.

SPEAKER_02

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, Kermit's my op. Don't bring him into this starting conversation. Yeah, keep going, keep going, keep going. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Muppets, um, folks, like and subscribe if you want us to dress up like Muppet. I'll next episode. I'm Paul Miss Piggy. He will be Paul Miss Piggy, I'll be the green frog. Um yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Muppets. Um I I just ten likes and we kiss. I mean, dude. Dude. All right. All right. Um ten likes. Whoa. I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I do less. All right, anyways. Um, okay, so where are we at? Oh, yes, okay, Mandalorian. Right. So I I just think that I just think they're gonna have to do, I think they're gonna lean on because it's just such an easy crutch for them. Grogu market. It's just like whenever they don't know what to do in the plot, it's like, hey guys, let's just have Grogu do something funny. Everyone laughs. We then we make 10 items of merch off of Grogu pushing over a uh a trash can, a tree. I don't know. Like and and then we make money off. I'm a sheep.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

This guy's this guy's a sheep.

SPEAKER_01

I I I like this. I think it's a good addition.

SPEAKER_00

See, I thought in season one they just nailed him so perfectly, and then somewhere in there they realized he's he's a cast green, a green cast cow. You know, he's a green frog, a green cash frog. And it is they, you know, so yeah, I'm I'm worried they're gonna just lean on him too much. I think it's gonna water down the plot. I think it's gonna make the plot not as um, I think it's just gonna be trying to ignore the fact that they're just focusing on him all the time, and I don't think it will ever feel like season one again of Mandalorian, which I thought was probably incredible. Season two was fun, it was a step down, it was a step down, and then season three was it's always hard to beat the first. I mean it was, but again, I think it was around there they started to realize, you know, Grogu's your marketing potential. So yeah, I mean I I I see your point on on the just fun adventure showers, maybe not too deep. Um, but I think it's it's gonna be hard to focus on that, at least for me, because of how much I'm worried they're gonna focus on.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, only one way to find out. Like, we will go be seeing it open in the weekend. Yeah, like we got to. It is the first time once again Star Wars has been on the big screen in eight years. Eight years. I am really hoping, uh, hopefully I won't be let down that there is peak bounty hunter action. It's what I wanted out of the Book of Boba Fett. We didn't get it. We got teased with Cad Bane, killed instantly. But by the way, oh once again, once like what a flop. Like, I mean, it's like yeah, mess up the design. Like one of the most beloved bounty hunters, so much potential. He's so cool, he's so cool, just gone instantly. Yeah, I was like, great, Boba Fett finally did something, and it's the one thing I didn't want him to do. Terrible. But we'll see. Maybe Groot will just be all over the place in that movie, and maybe it'll just be like buns. But I'm excited. Once again, it's Star Wars. Even if the plot's kind of mid, I'm still gonna have fun with it. Hey. If you have the movie, then but I think the real peak Star Wars comes in 2027. Because now we get Ryan Gosselin.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my goodness. This guy.

SPEAKER_01

I mean We do, yeah, it already feels like a Ryan Gosselin role.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like, like I see, but is it gonna feel too much like see here's the thing.

SPEAKER_00

I think like you've also seen Law of Land. I haven't seen Law of Land, which I've heard is an incredible movie. Oh fuck. Um but I've I feel like the movies Ryan Gosling are in. He plays Ryan Gosselin. He plays Ryan Gosling. And so I'm scared with with um I'm scared that with what is it, Starfighters? What is it called again? Yeah, Star Wars Starfighter. Starfires, I think, is the name. I'm worried it's gonna it's going to feel like Ryan Gosling movie. It's gonna feel like a it could. It's gonna feel like an SNL skit where Ryan Gosling is in Star Wars and it's not gonna feel like Star Wars.

SPEAKER_01

I'll still like it though.

SPEAKER_00

Sure.

SPEAKER_01

Because I'm a Ryan Gossel fan.

SPEAKER_02

Ryan Gosling is great.

SPEAKER_01

There's only one thing I am worried about. Um why can't we get any Star Wars show or movie that doesn't have a kid in it? It's yes. Oh man, they all do. Did Obi-Wan really need a like baby Leia in it? Um probably not.

SPEAKER_00

Although I understand where they were going because in episode four, she had to know to fight him so or to to call him. She had to know, like, I need like I need to find Obi-Wan. And so they were filling up in this backstory of like, how does Leia know Obi-Wan? How does she know to want to contact him? So that makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it does make sense. Um but it just feels like every Star Wars project recently it has some sort of kid.

SPEAKER_00

Again, Goku. Once the ones that worked, it's you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They just yeah, but I mean, obviously, if you look at the the poster for Starfighter, it's Ryan Gossel. There's it, there's a kid on the cover, too. Um really nervous that movie. Yeah. Um I think like if they do it right, I think once again, standalone, I don't think they can mess it up too bad. And I think if anything, even if the plot's bad, I think Ryan Gosselin might carry the performance in the movie. Um, because I feel like he's born to play a role like that.

SPEAKER_00

It seems like a Ryan Gossel role. I don't know. I he was born to play a role like Project Hill Mary, whether he was born to play Starfighters, I don't know. Only time will tell. I between it being Ryan Gossling and him making every movie he's in, like his at least every movie he's starring in, making it kind of a Ryan Gosling movie, between that and the kid, it's gonna be a lot for them to dance around for them to make it good. Now to say can't, I I'm doubtful though. I don't think it's gonna be good. I think it's gonna have for Damien Elements. Anything Ryan Gosling is in it, I'm gonna watch it because it's Ryan Gosling. And I'm a huge Ryan Gosling fan as well. But I think as a star as a Star Wars movie, you know, maybe maybe if you take the Star Wars name off of it and you just look at it as an as a movie, maybe it'll be good. Um I don't think it's gonna be Star Wars. I don't think it's gonna be what people are looking for when they go to watch a Star Wars movie. I think it's gonna be missing a lot of elements that people are used to having.

SPEAKER_01

Tom will tell what that one. Tom will tell. It's down the line. That's 2027. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna be saying 2026. That's down the line.

SPEAKER_01

Well, locked in on Mandalorian and Grogu in the future.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm looking to see if it's gonna be good. Look, I could be wrong. They they could like make it how season one was. Like they could make it fun again, you know? Yeah. Um, but but some of the you know, trailer shots and promo, I'm just like, they're already just stupid in their podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just get out the it. It is, it is, it really is what it is, but we'll see. We'll we'll still go see. One final thing we want to do before we call this episode off is just you know, a little segment we like to call Defend the High Ground. Um Defend the High Ground, and so we're each gonna give what we think is one just major hot take for 2026 in general for movies, um, and just kind of question why on earth we would have a hot take like that. Um so I guess I'll go first. Um, Will already knows what's about to come out of my mouth. Um, and it's that I'm not excited for Dune Part 3 at all. Um I still will go see it. Um I'm just not a big Dune franchise guy. Um I I can appreciate a lot of what Dune has to offer. I think the music is some of the best movie music I've ever heard.

SPEAKER_00

Do you want to tell them your your secret about your Yeah, yeah, I'll I'll get there.

SPEAKER_01

I'll get I'll get there. Um I think yeah, I think you know the cinematography is good.

SPEAKER_00

Um Yeah, how'd you think about the cinematography in the the first movie?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, in in the first movie it was um I don't know because I didn't watch it. I've only this is a thing. Oh my gosh, here we go. I've I've only seen how can you flame a series you have in the movie though? But but guess what? The second dude's supposed to be Pete, and I thought the whole plot of it was mid, and maybe sure, maybe I've sort of seen the first one, but I've heard the first one sucks until you watch the second one. So why would I ever go back and watch the first one?

SPEAKER_00

You know what? Let me debate you on this. Think about this. If Star Wars Rogue One, which you say is your favorite Star Wars movie, it is my favorite Star Wars movie. If Rogue One was broken up into two halves, you have Rogue One, the first half, Rogue One the second half, you have everything leading up to Scarap, and then you have Scarif, the ending part, where all the main characters are dying, you have all the main stuff, cool stuff happening. If you didn't watch the first part and you only went and watched the second part, it would be cool, there'd be cool stuff happening, but there would be no weight to anything because you don't have the buildup of anything at all. And so I think if that were if that were to be the case, I don't think someone who watched Dune or Rogue One the second part, I don't think they have the authority to criticize it because they don't have the buildup, they don't have the things, they don't have the the the the the framework, the the groundwork that makes that an impactful part. The plot sucks. Doesn't suck. It sucks. It doesn't.

SPEAKER_01

It sucks.

SPEAKER_00

What about it as bad?

SPEAKER_01

Spice. We fight over spies.

SPEAKER_00

No, but you have the whole thing with with um Timothy Jolly's character, he's the the the like listen all guide or whatever you call it. But it's weird. No, but it sucks. It also paved the way for Star Wars. It was the original sci-fi franchise. You know, you have to have respect for it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't have to because Star Wars. Okay, it was inspired and it was just ten times better. It's cleared.

SPEAKER_00

I love Star Wars.

SPEAKER_01

It cleared.

SPEAKER_00

It's better. But listen.

SPEAKER_01

It cleared.

SPEAKER_00

But okay, what about the Doompla's bat? What do you not like about it? The what? What do you not like about the Doompla? Is it just this the spice? Is that is that the it's it's just kind of boring.

SPEAKER_01

It it feels it feels basic to me.

SPEAKER_00

It didn't feel like epic or anything.

SPEAKER_01

It's only epic because it's got epic music. If you take the music out of the movie, you'd be like.

SPEAKER_00

Here's what we're gonna do. You need to watch Dune Part 1, and I need to watch Toy Story 3. Yeah. Because apparently Lotso is the second best villain, the second best villain of all time, apparently. Apparently, I'm I'm missing something. You know, I let us know what you guys think of Lotso.

SPEAKER_01

Stay tuned for what's Doom Part 3 and I fall asleep longer than I did in the Super Mario Galaxy movie.

SPEAKER_00

Right. It's not gonna happen. If you watched Doom Part 1 before and you watched maybe part two again, because that would help with some some context, and you watch Doom Part 3, I think it's gonna be good.

SPEAKER_01

But objectively, every movie I take that back. I take that back. Most most movies are named in our top ten list. I'm probably more excited to see than Doom Part Three.

SPEAKER_02

Crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I all rather see than Doom Part Three, um, Jumaji. I don't really care about Moana and Minions. I'm just not really gonna think.

SPEAKER_00

Like you said, every Minions movie has got more mid.

SPEAKER_01

As time has gone on. It's a money farm. It's a money farm by Universal at this point. And you know what? It works.

SPEAKER_00

I guess it does.

SPEAKER_01

It works.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean they're raking, they're raking it in. Yeah. Yeah. But anyways, I I loved Dune Part 2. I thought Dune Part 2 was incredible. I thought the the the the score, the cinematography, some of the shots, breathtaking. I thought those shots were better than the shots in Project Tail Mary. Project Tell Mary, you had the red shot.

SPEAKER_01

It's the same cinematographer, and I would completely agree. I think Dune excels in every category but the plot. But but you can't replace a bad plot. Right, but you can appreciate the other parts. But like I could have the best lighting, I could have the best angles, I could put someone in the best clothing, but if they're ugly, they're ugly. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

It's just like Mama's piggy though. Oh yeah. Okay, alright.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah. Yeah. No, but I I don't think I don't think the plot is bad. I think the plot is is I think it's a cool plot. You know, it's it's him rising, you know, it's it's it's the transformation of him as a care See, you you haven't seen him in in part one. Like the whole transformation of him as this like skinny guy who like everyone kind of looks down on a little bit, and he's kind of like the outcast, you know, and you watch him evolve into realizing he's like, you know, the like messiah kind of character, and then kind of starting to like realize the power that comes from that, and then adopting that, and then moving this confidence in a second, like you see this whole arc of his character, and I think that that arc is an interesting arc, you know. And so, and we've talked about this before when we talked about Dune. I think that they had a lot of content in the books, and you know, it's hard to fit all of that in all into the movies. And I apparently the the first movie I think is are the first two books, or maybe it is just the first book.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't know. I don't know how it works.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't seen it. My my brother is a huge fan of the books, he could tell you more than me, but um, you know, apparently he was telling me at least, my brother who's read the books, that there's a lot of exposition in that first book, and so they they tried to do and he said he said he they thought it did a great job, which I can't speak on positively or negatively because I haven't read the book, so I'm not using that as a point.

SPEAKER_01

But I will say probably thank goodness they didn't include all that exposition because imagine how boring it would probably be if they you need to just watch the first movie, you need to watch the first one.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? Watch it.

SPEAKER_01

I'll shut up until I watch. He needs to watch the first movie.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I'm not gonna shut up on, though, is my Defend the High Ground hot take. I I have written, I said I think the Odyssey will be Christopher Nolan's first film resembling a flop, and it won't live up to the hype. I think the Odyssey the Odyssey, it's not gonna live up to it. I I I don't think it will.

SPEAKER_01

The only reason why I might not consider that the high ground is because this has slowly started developing into a mainstream conversation about the movie.

SPEAKER_02

That's fair.

SPEAKER_01

Um a lot of people are still very excited for it. I'm still excited for it. Obviously, we've seen Oppenheimer was fantastic. Yeah. Great biopic. Not a musician biopic either, which they need to do way more of those of non-musician biopics.

SPEAKER_02

Which one do you want to see?

SPEAKER_01

That's a great question, actually.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, what you got? What you got on the table? Non-musician biopics, what you got?

SPEAKER_01

I'm trying to think of someone who'd be like, like they're doing a George Washington kind of movie this year, which is pretty sick. Um, I kinda want to do someone someone from history. That would be a good you know, yeah. That's a good one. That would be good. That'd be a good place. I I I'm trying to decide what what era though. Um like the Napoleon biopic, I thought was was weird.

SPEAKER_00

I I never saw that one. But you told me it was weird.

SPEAKER_01

It was weird, but it was good. It was really good, and I think they did a good job of painting Napoleon. Okay. Um I could I could say like to do like a life pirate because I'm a pirates guy. I'm trying to think. I wouldn't know exactly. Maybe being from Tennessee, I think Davy Crockett might be kind of cool. Hey, we're both from Tennessee, by the way. Yeah, all narrated, but like the story of him exploring the West, crossing into Tennessee, and then the Alamo. He's got a cool history behind him if you actually research Davy Crockett. You would have thought about that, huh? I think it would be a good movie. I did. What about you? Miss Peefe.

SPEAKER_00

Um, honestly, now that I'm thinking about it, like a Walt Disney biopic would be kind of insane. It would be.

SPEAKER_01

It'd be hard to pull off.

SPEAKER_00

It would be really hard to pull off. Yeah. But I've thought about that randomly, not too bad.

SPEAKER_01

There's there's a lot of stuff talking about the history of Walt Disney.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But a biopic would be an actual biopic, yeah. Um, well, hey, let us know what you guys would want for a you know, non-musician biopic.

SPEAKER_01

There's a lot of people out there you could choose. You know, I don't think a lot of people would have picked Oppenheimer.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

But Christopher Nolan thought of it and it was great.

SPEAKER_00

It was so good. Oppenheimer, oh man, I love that movie. What a what an incredible movie.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I was the only person when I went with a group of friends, I was the only one who left and was like, I would watch the movie again. My friends are like, you're insane for wanting to watch a three-hour movie again. And I'm like, I would watch it again.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I thought I also for a second there thought about um Jonesy.

SPEAKER_02

Jonesy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um he's just experienced a lot through about like five or six chapters of Fortnite. And I think um, you know, he's seen he's seen the good and bad, the OG and the brain raw. Um I think you'd have a good story to tell.

SPEAKER_00

Sure. Right. So who are you like, who's who are you casting, Jonesy? Who you got?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, probably Ryan Gosling.

SPEAKER_00

Is it bad for terrible answer?

SPEAKER_01

Like, I actually think he could genuinely be joking. Like, yeah. Yeah. It'd be like Jack Black as like Steve, you know? Like it'd just be like iconic.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Wow, I was I you had that off the dome. That's actually impressive. Because like when you said that, I was like, wait a minute.

unknown

Wait.

SPEAKER_00

Not even a terrible answer. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Not that bad. If I could choose actually like not an actor though, I think like T Foo playing jump like would be fun.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it'd be fun. It would make sense.

SPEAKER_01

It would make sense.

SPEAKER_00

Um, okay, well, so if I if if you're not if we're not considering that the high ground.

SPEAKER_01

And I mean, it's still definitely like a hotter take, just because it's hyped up. Yeah. It's a Melan movie. But I almost agree with you on that. Like, I don't think it's gonna live up to the expectation we have in mind.

SPEAKER_00

But you're still thinking it's gonna rake at the box office.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, oh, it's gonna rake. But I think like the Odyssey is like a story we have like that's been painted for a thousand of years, and everybody has their own vision of what the Odyssey looks like. And on depictions, Christopher Nolan is probably gonna put his own twist on it, and people are gonna get mad at it. Um, simply because it's not their version of history they have in mind for the Odyssey, even though the Odyssey is a story in of itself. Um we'll see.

SPEAKER_02

We'll see. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we'll see. Is it a hot take to say that I don't think Avengers Doomsday is gonna live up to the hype either? Is that would you agree with that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I also agree with that. I think it's gonna be a fan service, dumpster fire.

SPEAKER_00

I I it's too much to do in one movie. It's too much to do. It's too much to do. Yeah, I I agree on that. Yeah, I don't think Avengers Doom's too much.

SPEAKER_01

I think they realized that all their new movies, all their new characters have been like flops. Uh besides, I thought Fantastic Four was pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

I am excited for RDJ as Doom, though.

SPEAKER_01

It's really interesting.

SPEAKER_00

I'm excited to see how.

SPEAKER_01

I saw something where they said they might not even show his face in the movie.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I I don't know like where where I saw that's like we're gonna have to verify that. Right. But yeah. I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

They're like, no one else could play Doom.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, if he has a mask on all the time, you know, maybe someone could. Right. That would be there's that would be quite the choice to do that. Because again, like you're saying, they said no one else could play him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh that would be I mean, they gotta take the mask off at some point.

SPEAKER_02

They have to.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, we'll we'll see. I mean, I guess to you, my hot take would be that I think Doom Part Three is gonna be a spectacle of a movie. I mean, I don't know if that's that's a high ground to you. Um, I think a lot of people agree with that. I think Doom Part 3 is gonna be cinematic. I think Doom Part 3 is gonna be better than Doomsday. Let's mean.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. Maybe I I could see that one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Don't think it'll be as good as the Muppet Show. I think I think the way Miss Piggy's should Miss Piggy.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, what if they take Miss Piggy out of the Muppet Show?

SPEAKER_01

Then are you just elevate the story of and the musical talent of that show would just compel itself over the street. Specifically the plumpness of Arthur, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean you should see the way she knocks down that door at that show. I mean, I never wanted to be a door so badly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like you never wanted okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So you wanted her to knock you down.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So like I mean you wouldn't?

SPEAKER_00

So like I mean, you know, Miss Piggy, right? Like I mean, who's gonna say no? You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you can't you can't say no to Miss Piggy.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Um she just has a way with her words, right?

SPEAKER_00

Um so like Sabrina Carpenter just like you know.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, she's there too.

SPEAKER_00

No one, you know, Sabrina Carpenter. Oh no, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

She she's she's there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's a hot take. What do you think about Sabrina Carpenter?

SPEAKER_01

I love Sabrina Carpenter.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_01

I think I think her music is like fire. Like I enjoy listening to it.

SPEAKER_00

Hot take. Um actually not a hot take.

SPEAKER_02

A lot of people like her music.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I think her music's good. I think she's funny. I think she carries herself pretty decently on the internet too. She's not like overbearing. Uh she does a lot for the fans. I think like the Muppet show was good for her branding too. Like it's fun. It's fun, she has a good time. I like her.

SPEAKER_02

I think she's better than Taylor Swift. Thomas I like the way she carries herself. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00
